Traditional Veneers vs. a No-Prep Technique
Veneers are thin porcelain shells that fit over the front surface of a tooth. This cosmetic dentistry procedure conceals aesthetic issues such as cracks, chips, stains, gaps, and misalignments. Traditionally, porcelain veneers require your dentist to remove a small amount of enamel from the tooth structure to allow the veneer to fit properly.
No-prep veneers allow Dr. Myles to place your dental veneers with little to no alteration of the tooth. This is a great option for patients who do not want to commit to a permanent treatment.
Candidates for No-Prep Veneers
Are in Good Oral Health
You must be in good oral health and free of dental issues such as tooth decay and gum disease.
Are Ready to Invest in Your Smile
Because veneers are considered a cosmetic procedure, they are not covered by dental insurance. However, the benefits of veneers make them a great investment.
Have Sufficient Enamel
Even though no-prep placement requires little to no modification of the tooth, the tooth itself must be healthy enough with sufficient enamel to support the veneer.
